About YouthBiz

Maximizing the Potential of Our Youth
YouthBiz advances the social and economic empowerment of youth through a focus on entrepreneurship, education and community leadership. At YouthBiz, we equip youth with the vision, tools and dedication to build positive futures for themselves and drive creative solutions to the challenges facing their communities. Through after-school and summer programs that incorporate hands-on activities, real-world experience, peer-to-peer facilitation, and entrepreneurial development youth become active participants in their learning and success.

History
YouthBiz was founded in Denver’s Five-Points neighborhood by a local activist and eight inner-city teens in 1992. In eighteen years the organization has served over 4,000 youth through programs that leave a lasting impact not just for these individuals, but their families and the larger community. With the goal transforming disenfranchised neighborhoods one youth at a time, YouthBiz is preparing a new generation of scholars, business men and women, entrepreneurs, community leaders, and other professionals.

About the Rotary Club of Five Points Cultural District

Initiated in 2009 by a diverse group of service‐oriented professionals who live in, work in, and
care about the Five Points area located in Northeast Denver, the Rotary Club of Five Points
Cultural District is a community‐centered organization which supports projects at home and
abroad. Named for the five‐way intersection that connects downtown to Northeast Denver’s
historic neighborhoods (Washington Street, 27th Street, 26th Avenue and Welton Street), the
Five Points name was not chosen to designate a limited geographic area, but rather to
symbolize the convergence of several neighborhoods, cultures, and perspectives in service.
